When i got my 1996 Buick Riviera I that was my first question, how do I jump this car under the hood? First of all there is a plastic box (black) under the windshield washer filler tank about 3 inches wide and 1/34 inches deep. In the box is a positive cable that leads to the battery so hook up your cables there and find a ground on the frame for the negative cable. I like having the battery under the seat it doesn't get overheated or terribly cold. Good Luck
If it jump starts, the problem is probably either the battery or a corroded battery connection terminal.

Since the battery is under the quarter panel by the driver's side tire, there is your positive and negative terminals up top where you would hook the booster cables to to jump the car.
