There is no way to tell on the steering column, I'm assuming your wondering why the ignition key doesn't match the door lock key, in that instance there is no way to tell, the car could have been re keyed on either for a multitude of reasons. On the other hand if your curious to see if the doors match the body then look at the drivers lower corner of your dash there will be a vin number easily visible through the windshield. compare that with the vin stickers on the doors and that will give you your answer.
No.
Changing the heater core requires complete removal of the dash panel and plenum box. To do this you have to remove the steering wheel, steering column, evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system and drain the radiator. I would only consider changing the heater core if it is physically leaking into the passenger compartment. If the problem is heat transfer to the HVAC system only, the problem is more likely with the blend doors.

Yes, originally the door and ignition keys are the same. but if you have to replace your ignition / steering column, you will have a different (re-keyed) key for the door and for the ignition.
No a Cherokee is a uni-body(frame is a part of the structure) and relies on all its components for structure in a situation such as an accident. You can make half doors / Tube doors that would allow for structural integrity.
put the doors back on or get a new battery

There should be two hinges and two bolts on each door easy to take out if you have the right tools. If your problem is with the electric locks and windows, there is a big wire connector beneath the steering column right next to the pedals you can't miss it. Just follow the bunch of wires from the door through and under the panel. It's difficult to get them back on, though, so make your decision carefully. Also, the doors sometimes do not line up correctly afterward.
