The best way to know if your 1988 Suzuki Intruder VS700GL fuel pump has gone bad is that the bike stalls. When you start it up, it will stall.
First thing would be that the car won't start. You can also just look in the trunk next to the spare tire hole and under the plate is your fuel pump. If it is not there then you will know.
hard starting or it fill like you run out of gas. it will turn but won't start.
Hard starting, loss of power, poor fuel economy, and the check engine light should be on.
there are many ways to tell if the fuel pump is bad. First i would try spraying some starting fluid(just a little bit) in the air intake while cranking the engine. If the engine starts and dies out then you know you are not getting fuel. if the engine does nothing then you know it is a spark issue.
Open the fuel filler door and remove the gas cap. Listen at the fuel filler opening while a helper turns the ignition on but does not start the engine. The pump will run for a few seconds and then shut off. If you do not hear the pump check the fuel pump fuse and the fuel pump relay. If they are good then the pump is more than likely defective. If you hear the pump then you know it is running but that does not mean it is pumping fuel. A fuel pressure test will verify the condition of the pump. Be sure and replace the fuel filter.
you know when something has gone through evolution by looking at its earlier relitives.although some things have not gone through evolution
it'll start whinnin and car will start missin little. for the most part when you turn your key to on position if your pump is runnin loud get it checked.
make sure that ignition switch is completely turned off. turn key to acc position and listen for humming sound that lasts for about two or three seconds. if you do not hear that hum, your fuel pump is not functioning
