How do you know if the throw out bearing is bad on a 95 geo tracker If it is then what is involved in replacing it Do you have to drop the tranny clutch recently replaced not tob.?

if TOB screams when you press the clutch it is bad.
if it collapes the clutch will be very hard to control.
if it desecrates, no more clutch at all. no shifting.
pull tranny ,
replace PP, disc, TOB and pilot bearing ALWAYS as a set.
5hours out and 5 in , max.
i pull motor faster. do in 3out and in. record time.
depends if car is 2wd , 4wd, (xfr case is extra work) but pulling engine makes the above line not true

Have you tried replacing the tensener pulling, it has a bearing inside it that should allow the roller to spin. They are not very expensive.
