On 90% of the guns it is stamped on the right side of the barrel as "Thompson/Center Rochester New Hampshire" and "HAWKEN 45 Cal" along with a serial number on the left side. If not the easiest way would be to go to gunbroker.com or Google and search for Thompson center hawken, compare the pictures and description to what you have.
You can contact Thompson Center Customer Service through their website for help. They are still in business, you know. BTW, really good rifles.
No sn data I know of.
Value would depend on the model ( Hawken, Renegade, Black Diamond, system one etc) and condition. I can help if I know the model, if you have trouble identifying the model try the on line auctions like gunbroker and auction arms, you can compare your gun to listings there to get a model and selling price information too.
You can download manuals from the Thompson Center website listed here in the related links, you can also find a phone number there to request a hard copy. You will need to know the model. In this case the 25th anniversary Hawken, same specs apply as the standard Hawkens rifle.
Old style. Single shot. Good firearm
you can contact Thompson Center Arms and ask them, for the correct answer. In order to know the worth, you would have to know what model it is, what condition, its in, etc. The newer inline hunter models are alot cheaper than the older traditional side lock percussion or flintlock models in fine condition. The long Pennsylvania type rifles are a little higher. I'd say a normal percussion sidelock .45 ,cal good condition, anywhere from $300 to $400, but it could be slightly more or less. good luck
Having owned one back in the mid 80's, I know what you have. Depending on condition value would be between $300-$500. It was the same as their standard Hawken but with S/S trim/furniture and a select walnut stock. The one I had would hold 3 in groups @100yds w/iron sights. Good luck with yours and don't sell it short, Thompson wasn't made these for over twenty years....
Read books, look at real ones in museums, gun shows, gun shops and ask Hawken collectors.
You need a professional appraisal. Fakes abound and are vey hard to spot if you are not familiar with the item in question.
You can order direct from Thompson Center or Dixie Gun Works also Midway USA. All have on line stores. You will need to know the model and caliber.
You can find new replacement barres at green mountain barrel co, track of the wolf and log cabin shop. Used ones can be found on gunbroker, auction arms and ebay. You will need to know what model your stock is for proper fit of the underlug and cross pin.
Dylan has three arms, if you know what i mean ;)
