Crawl under the vehicle and look up at the exhaust system. The catalytic converter is the first part that looks like a muffler mounted in the exhaust system coming rearward from the engine.
Yes, if it is clogged.
On 2000 & 2002 E150's there are 2 back-to-back converters on each side.
I have a 1990 e150 and it has 2.
Left front, right front, left rear, right rear, 4 converters total..
On a 2002 Ford E-150 : Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine ( V6 and V8 engines ) Sensor 1 would be close to the engine BEFORE the exhaust enters the catalytic converter ( upstream sensor )
i am thinking there is 4 one at the exhuast manifold, one before the converter one after and one inline. some have only 2 one after the manifold and in line.. v6 and v8 may have 2 af the exhuast collectors and 2 before the catalytic converter 2 after the catalytic converter and one inline. all depends one the engine and where it was built and if it is a cali van or not..
Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine in your E-150 Sensor 1 is between the engine and the catalytic converter ( upstream sensor )
Under the hood, drivers side, right above the steering column.
Inside the transmission.
12qts with the torque converter drained. It will be far less if you have just removed the pan and filter.
You need to remove the oil pan. Its bolted to the bottom of the engine
On my 2000 E150 with 4.6L engine, the PCV valve fits in a rubber grommet in the center of the valve cover, with an insulated line running to the intake manifold.
