on the 1991 model the starter is located on the driver side of the car on the "top"side of the engine. if you look down and to the left from where the battery is located you would be able to see the starter.right on where the transaxle meets the engine. the 1990 model shouldn't be much diffrent. also try www.autozone.com and click on parts/components location.
