The safe rate of weight-loss for the average person is approximately 1.5 pounds per week, in order to lose effectively fat and not water, and to preserve good health.

You can lose about 10 pounds, depending upon how you follow the diet, in 12 days by doing the Grapefruit Diet. I'm in the process of doing it now, & I've heard other success stories. You can lose around 52 pounds in 2 and a half months. All you have to do is follow this eating plan.

Breakfast:

1/2 a grapefruit OR 8 oz. of grapefruit juice (unsweetened)

2 eggs (any style)

2 slices of bacon

Coffe or Tea (1 cup, no sugar or cream)

Lunch:

1/2 a grapefruit OR 8 oz. of grapefruit juice (unsweetened)

Salad (any kind of salad dressing)

Meat (any kind, any amount)

Dinner:

1/2 a grapefruit OR 8 oz. of grapefruit juice (unsweetened)

Meat (any kind, any amount)

Vegetables (any green, yellow or red vegetables; can be cooked in butter or any seasoning)

Bedtime Snack:

Glass of Tomato Juice or skim milk

Instructions:

1. At any meal you may eat until you're full.

2. DO NOT eliminate anything from the diet, especially don't skip bacon at breakfast or omit salads. It's the combination of foods that burn up fat.

3. The grapefruit is very important because it acts as a catalyst that starts the burning process.

4. Cut down on coffee. It affects the insulin balance that hinders the burning up process. Try to limit yourself to one cup at mealtime.

5. DO NOT eat between meals.

6. DO NOT eat desserts, bread, white vegetables or sweet potatoes. You may double or triple helpings of meat, salad, and vegetables. The more you eat the proper combinations of food, the more you will lose.

7. You can lose 10 pounds in 12 days. There will be no loss the first 4 days, but on the 5th day you will lose 5 pounds. Thereafter, you will lose 1 1/2 pounds every two days until you reach your goal.

If it doesn't work, you cheated somewhere!

Vegetables you can't have:

white onions, potatoes, any starchy veggies, and celery.

Vegetables you can have:

red onions, bell peppers, radishes, brocolli, cucumbers, green onions, leaf spinach, carrots, tomatoes, green beans, lettuce, cabbage.

Stay on diet for 12 days. If you wish to continue diet, stop the diet for 2 days, then restart for another 12 and so on.
