Over the years, research has shown that you can't pick and choose where you want to remove fat unless you are undergoing Liposuction. If appearance is your primary concern, you can do resistance training (Weightlifting) around the areas with excess fat to counterbalance your form. The fat will still mostly be there, but it will be less noticeable because it will be supported by larger fast-twitch muscle. Basically, it will droop less.

Another thing that has become increasingly clear is that focusing on diet alone is ineffective at losing fat and keeping it off. How people keep thinking otherwise is a mystery to me. In a food-saturated society, most people don't have the willpower to starve themselves back to a healthy Body Mass Index. Hunger and being hungry all day for the rest of your life is no way to live.

So there's no mystery about how to lose weight. Dieting alone helps. Weightlifting helps even more. Aerobic exercise helps a lot. All three together will have you fit, trim—and most importantly,

HEALTHY—in the shortest time possible.

I've seen guys who were morbidly obese to the point where they had trouble reaching their own shoes to tie them transform themselves into strong, fit, healthy men in less than one year through a combined diet and exercise plan. But the exercise plan focused mainly on aerobic exercise. So, they started by doing fast-walking, and as they lost weight they were able to start slow-jogging and then actual running. Meanwhile, they were cutting junk out of their diet and substituting fruits, veggies, and whole grains. Also, as their weight came down, they started doing body-weight resistance training (pushups, pullups, lunges, etc.). This adds muscle, which helps keep fat levels down.

Notice how nothing I've described here requires you to spend a lot of money on fancy diet foods, expensive equipment, or even a gym membership. Just get out there every day or almost every day and do something for a half-hour to an hour that causes you to sweat and breathe harder than you normally do. As you gain health, you'll find that you start craving healthful foods and stop craving junk.
