You can do it a few different ways. Lowering shocks in the rear is one way. Hard tail struts are another. You can get down right on top of the tire with struts bc theres no give. I have an 83 yamaha venture royale and an 84 Honda shadow with hardtail struts and they are LOW. On the front you can just loosen the fork clamps and slide it down a couple inches.
