If it's a torsion bar suspension you can take the tension off of the bars by turning the bolts at the back end of the bars. NOT SUGGESTED.
Hey Chet==It is quite an involved operation as you need special tools and a front end alignment when through. Get a manual on your vehicle from Auto zone and it will have pictures and everything. GoodluckJoe
That will be what the fan on the front of the engine bolts to.
A front popping on the left of a 98 Blazer could be the brakes, steering, or wheel bearing. Check all three to find the cause.
Passenger side, in front of the starter.
It is up by the thermostat housing on the front of the engine.
A fair number of parts will be compatible. Some will not be - for example, if you want to put a 98+ front end on a 94 - 97 Blazer, you'll need the core support from a 98+ Blazer, Jimmy, Bravada, S10, or S15. If you have sealed beam headlights (most commonly seen on 2WD 94 - 97 models), you'll need the wiring harnesses for the lights, as well.

My 93 s10 Blazer has torsion bar suspension and I suspect yours does too, which would make it independent front suspension.
Yes, the doors from a 98 Chevy Blazer will fit a 2001 Chevy Blazer with a little moderation.
how to in stall a Quarter Window in a 98 Chevy blazer
well on my 01 zr2 blazer. its because it has a broken wheel stud on the left front. i don't know if that's your problem but that definatly makes the creak.
trans or oil? oil is in front left. i dont think the 98 blazer has a trans dipstick. Instead, there is a bolt on the side of the trans.
