your truck has the Bosch 7100 injection pump. there is a boost adjustment on the top(under plug opening) under the plug is a star wheel adjustment. rotate the wheel a few clicks towards the firewall and it should help with the smoke issue. however smoke is good :)
Of the P7100, the plug that needs removed and a star wheel is directly below it. Use a small screw driver to click the top of the star wheel towards the engine for more smoke, I went 40 clicks for a LOT more. Count the clicks in case you ever need to set it back for smog or licensing issues. It takes about 5 min. to adjust.
Be careful! If you add too much fuel, you stand a fair chance of overheating the turbo and/or warping the head! Turning the starwheel adjusts how much fuel is delivered to the cylinder. adding more fuel adds more power, but substantially increases the amount of exhaust heat. These engines are capable of running a max egt, or Exhaust Gas Temperature of around 1200 deg. Fahrenheit for short bursts. normal egt's should be in the 900's give or take. Foot heavy acceleration will send egt's skyrocketing. Get a pyrometer gauge and install it somewhere where you can see it! Drive by this gauge! If the temp gets too hot, back off on the throttle! If you consistently have temp problems, back off the starwheel.
No.
what is the towing capacity of a 2005 dodge ram 2500 4x2 quadcab slt 5.9l cummings?
You need a programmer to change the software in the engine computer.
It is not adjustable.
buy a chip or programmer. straight pipe your exhaust.
10.5 in American Axle11.5 in AAM
It is part of the gas pedal.
Defective oxygen sensor, the check engine light should be in your face if it is running rich (black smoke).
i think it is on the drivers side just inside the frame. its a cylinder with a wire coming out of it.
drain and pull the old radiator out, slide the new one in and fill it up
The only thing electric on the transfer case of a 1994 Ram is the vehicle speed sensor. It is on the tail shaft
If it's an older Cummins (any 5.9L model), the cheapest way is to just cut the muffler off up to the engine and run a straight pipe clear out the back. Then SCT Tune the truck and you'll be making great power and blowing plenty of that black smoke on the Prius at the stop light! If it's a newer 6.7L Cummins you will have to install a DPF Delete Kit. DPF stands for "diesel particulate filter." It catches all of the smoke and emissions that is coming from the engine. You install this pipe and the truck will be straight piped for blowing plenty of that black smoke!
