i put a chip in mine and it black smokes
Put a plastic bag over your air filter
Black smoke is usually from excess fuel. Blue smoke is usually from excess oil.
International Truck and Engine Company makes the PowerStroke Diesel engine for Ford. They also made the 6.9L IDI engine and 7.3L IDI engine. They made the 6.9L IDI, 7.3L IDI, 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel, 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel, and 6.4L Powerstroke Diesel. Ford strayed away from International for 2011 because of many problems with the 6.0L and 6.4L. For 2011, Ford is making its own diesel engine, the 6.7L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8.
6.4L Powerstroke Dual Turbo Diesel V8 - - - 12mpg city / 17mpg highway COMBINED - - - 14.5mpg (Fuel effeciency can be improved by a DPF delete kit. This will make your truck blow black smoke but it's completely normal for a diesel. Deleting the DPF will void your 6.4L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8's 5 year/100,000 mile warranty.
International International used to make the powestroke. However I was told by an International tech, Ford recently bought the "Powerstroke" name an builds it themselves.
Buy a "bully dog" chip that plugs into computer/ fuse box
to make a diesel blow black smoke is usually done by turning up the fuel pump.all this accomplishes is to much fuel and the black smoke created is mostly un burnt fuel that is being wasted
I'm confused. I can tell you how to change the tensioner on a 7.3L Powerstroke. The problem is Ford did not make a Powerstroke until 1994. Is your truck a 1992? What is the 8th digit in your VIN Number? If it's an F you have a Powerstroke. Let me know so I can help you with your question.
First, if you're not wanting to spend very much money, just straight pipe it. You can cut the pipe off up to the engine, then run 3.5 or 4 inch pipe out the rear end. It's a great and cheap way to make your truck smoke. Well, that's about it. :D
If it's a Powerstroke diesel, you get a tuner or programmer and straight pipe the exhaust. My son has a 2007 Ford F-250 with the 6.0L Powerstroke, and he SCT Tuned his truck and used the 4-inch Hushpower exhaust system and his truck is great at ROLLIN' COAL!!! His truck produces 445 horsepower and 818 pound feet of torque and gets 20 miles per gallon. All at the touch of a button. SCT Tuners are great and awesome for the price. :D Visit SCT's website and Hushpower/Flowmaster's website at www.hushpower.com or www.flowmastermufflers.com. Hope I helped. :D
A blown head gasket can make one smoke or the engine is shot.
Get a life. black smoke means unburnt fuel
