This isn't exactly an answer to your question, but it is related. Years ago I used to make a wonderful dessert. I don't recall the amounts, but improvising will be worth it. Bake and set aside a couple of pre-made pie crusts.
Get a half gallon (or whatever it is now) of chocolate chip ice cream (vanilla with Chocolate Chips).
Blend in a jar of chunky peanut butter. don't recall size
Blend in a container of coolwhip. don't recall size
Of course, keep the ice cream as cool as possible while blending, but you want the mixture to turn out as smoothe as possible.
Pour it into the pie crusts and keep frozen. the filling is wonderfully silky, except for the scrumtious morsels of chocolate and peanut. Don't use peanutbutter ice cream-- that will be serious over-kill.
