Well, the only thing that makes them disappear is time. Hate to tell you but that's pretty much the only thing that works. But if it helps use a moisturizer or aloe vera for the pain and maybe the redness will go down. But if using a moisturizer try to stay away from ones with fragrances or dyes. You could also get a few tea bags and some cold water and soak the tea bags in the water and then gently run the tea bags onto your skin. The sooner the better.

Do not put on regular lotion it will hold IN the heat on your skin and you want the heat to escape to cool it down.
There are also a number of after market brands that are specializing in sunburns now.
