What I have done in the past is open the door, place one hand on the outside of the glass then take the other hand and place it on the inside of the glass and attempt to push it back to the top, if the window is all the way down then the door panel has to be removed. once you get the window up it will stay up.
If it is hard to roll up and has no broken regulator, you can spray silicone lubricante in thre tracks.
You can manually roll up a power window by pulling on it. You can also remove the door panel and pull the window up.
Depending what year your windstar is, it may have rivets holding the window to the motor. You have to drill them out to detach the window. I removed the motor and regulator and pulled the window up and propped it with wood until my motor came in. Now they have the motor/regulator combo aftermarket at Autozone for $69.
Try lubing all moving parts then.....good luck using the motor
You can remove the door panel. And there are 3 star bolts that hold the power window motor. Once you remove the motor you can remove gear cable from motor and pull up the window by hand. That is the only way I know of. I had two motorcables brake on me.
the motor is loose on it's mount and it's gear is not engaging the window roller or the gear in the motor is loose or broken from the motor shaft. The window regulater is broken. You will need a new one. cost about 50.00 for parts and about that if you have it installed. glass speciality or a similar business can do it faster and without any problems.
Remove the inside door panel. Push the window track. Upward, until the window is completely closed. Lock the window linkage in place, so the window will not fall down.
not really
If its the bronco XLT you'll have to take the tail gate paneling off the inside. The motor, gears, etc. for the rear window are located in there. I had the same problem with mine sometime back.
you cannot manually roll up the window. I disconnected the harness and used 2 wires to jump power from the cargo light socket to the harness, one way is up the other is down by reversing them.
The complete moter and attaching bracket assembly inside the door must be replaced. as the bracket assy is broken.
the easy way is to remove the door panel and cut the regulator cables on both sides of the motor then raise the window and wedge a stick under the window to hold it up
