How do you repair the rear hatch opening mechanism when the hatch will not open?
I have a 96 Chevy Blazer S-10 and the latch to open the window in the back hatch will not work. How do I replace the motor?? or whatever to repair?
All your power locks work with the remote except the rear hatch with the other doors locked if you try to open the hatch it sets off the alarm please help?

You can open the driver's door and press the "unlock" switch on the armrest. This should unlock all the doors, including the rear hatch. If it doesn't, your solenoid that operates the lock needs to be replaced. For that, see your Subaru dealer.

I don't know how to fix the main problem but if you climb in the back of the Blazer in the middle of the hatch you will see a little round plug if you pop this out use a flashlight to see inside on the right side there is a lever if you pull it toward you all the way you will hear it click then you can open your hatch and window.

Mine has a similar issue when the rear window hatch releases (for no reason it will just pop open). In order to shut off the interior lights while I'm driving there is an "override" button to the left of the steering wheel on the dash. If I hit that then I get all the same symptoms you described, the rear washer does not work because the "rear hatch is open", the remote won't work and the radio will shut off when I stop the car until I close the rear hatch and hit the "override" button again. I have to pull a fuse to get mine to work and then replace it. It only works once, so every time I want in the hatch, I have to open the hood, open the fuse box, remove and then replace the fuse. I can then open the hatch once.

I fashioned a "key" from a stone chisel and attached a show shovel handle. The chisel end needs to look like a bar about 3/4" x 1/8" It works fine.
