How do you open the front door panel on a Chevy S10 if the handle seems to be broken?

The handle probably "is" broken. They are known for this problem. The best I can offer is to take a small flashlight and look into the hole nearest the seat and look for a rod. Take some needlenose pliers and pull up (or down) on that rod and the door should pop open. Those handles are pretty cheap, but you need a heavyduty Rivet gun to put a new one in.
