Generally, if your cat is frightened of you, it's best to leave it alone. Attempting to chase the cat will simply make it more anxious and likely to claw or bite if you catch it.
You can encourage the cat to be less frightened by remaining still when it's around, so that you do not appear threatening, and speaking to it in a calm, soothing voice. Sometimes offering treats helps, but take care not to overfeed the cat, and you may have to place the treat on the ground and back away before the cat will come out to eat it.
After a time, the cat will learn that you do not mean it harm, and will be more willing to let you approach it.
well it hates you just give it away because then you well end up with sraches everywhere so give it away....

if you have a cat, it's probably just you like it. If you once owned a cat but it died or ran away then you're grieving for it but if you don't have a pet and you like them and none of your family hates them or is allergic to them... maybe it's time to take mum to the pet shop!
He is both a pet cat, because you can pet it, and a stray cat because you can stray it. :)
