Chicken can be steamed in the conventional way. Place about 4 inches of water in your stock pot, put the seasoned chicken in the greased steamer basket, place pot on high heat.
If it's boneless it should take about 5 to 10 minutes depending on size of pieces.

wrap it in foil with any herbs or spices you wish to use then place in a top tier part of steamer over boiling water, don't forget to check the pan doesn't boil dry! when the juice runs clear its cooked, i usually allow 30mins per pond n 30mins after :) just to ensure no food poisoning
