all you have to do is take a long peace of wire and touch the (a) side of the generatorand the other end touch the battery posative side for just a secound do it two times you may see small spark this will put gen. in polaity, you only have to do this when bike sits for a long time or some times battery change when battery has short cell to check all is good put meter on battery ends and check voltage shold be 13.5 volts is good under 13 you have a problem v.r. is bad most likely
