How do you un program garage door opener
on a 1998 Chrysler Town and Country how do you reset the On board garage door opener
some garage door motors have a switch or button on the motor that raises the door. This switch has to be turn to the program position. You will need to have the hand held garage door opener held about 2 inches from the opener on in the Navigator. 1. hold the button on the visor that you want to use for the for the garage until the light on visor changes. then press both the visor and hand held opener button at the same time. Pushing the the hand held about three time. I hope this works for you. It did for me.
If it is a homelink system (factory) the proceedure is in the owners manual. You will need an operational opener for your garage.
sounds like it might be a fuse blown check to make sure
im looking to reset my garage door opener remote in my 1998 Honda accord ex - on the overhead console.... I don't have an owners manual
I have a 1998 Sebring that has 3 buttons on the drivers sun visor. First find the program button on your garage door opener motor head. When the button is pushed a little red light should start flashing. Now you have a cetain amount of time, usually between 15 and 30 sec., to push and hold the desired button in your auto. Hold the button until the little red indicater light starts flashing. Sometimes it is best to have help. Sometimes the auto has to be with in 10 feet and sometimes outside the garage. A little trial and error will work. Mike

Im not sure if it is the same automatic opener that I have in my Diamante, its a 97, and I had the same question you did about mine.....until today......Its WAY too complicated to explain how to program but I will hopefully send you in the right direction so you can hopefully find the right info for your car...... Go to your local library, and ask to use a program called "alldata"...Its has all the info you need about your car and more.....just type in the Model, Make, and year, and it will bring up everything from electrical diagrams, to maintainence tips and solutions......GOOD LUCK!!!!
Hold the outside two buttons to clear the memory. Then hold in the button you want to program and the remote button to learn from at the same time. The blinking should change to a faster pace. No idea what makes this part happen. I must have done this step 50-100 times before it picked up my remote (maxim_83: this may depend on the learn-from-remote-control, but pressing and releasing the learn-from-remote-control as opposed to just holding it helped really well in my case; my maxima remote picked the signal up in seconds). After it picks up the signal, push the learn button on the garage opener. Then, push the visor button you programed. The garage opener light should flash and you will be done. A good idea would be to unplug the opener while you are trying to learn the code. I didn't and the repeated attempts overheated the opener. It's also less anoying to not have the door opening and closing a million times. Eventually, I was able to program both my garage doors. I still don't know what makes a difference. I didn't see any advantage to holding them both the 90 secs like they say it may take. Seems like the times it did finally take, it was in the first 15 seconds. I think it must be the newer frequency openers, because I had no problems with the older Craftsman openers. Thanks to the NIssan Forum for this
According to the owner's manual that came with the car, page 15 says that the programming of the remote keyless entry, to stop the doors from automatically locking is to be done by the dealer. If you are trying to program the garage door opener in the visor to open the garage door, try reading the owner's manual, page 42-46. Very specific. be sure to follow the directions to a T. If all else fails the manual gives a telephone number for Homelink, the company that makes the system and suggests that you call their hotline. .
