I have a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am and my water pump is leaking and it's internal. Was told it's a 7.5 hour job which would cost $800.00 for labor alone, never mind the price for the new water pump. Unreal!

Remove the power steering pump hose. Remove the wiring harness from the power steering pump. Remove the power steering pump retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new power steering pump.
The water pump on a lemans is ran by the timing belt. The pump is not like a conventional water pump being that the housing is actually cast into the block the pump itself is just an insert that goes into the block. You have to take loose 3 Allen head screws and pull the pump from the housing there should be an o-ring on the back your new pump should have one. Put all of it back in reset the timing and replace the timing belt remember the water pump drive sets the tension on the timing belt so put tension on the gear and tighten the Allen screws and you're done
Gm does not put enertia switches on them
When I replaced mine a few months ago cost me about 40 bucks or so. Put it in myself. Got thbe pump from Autozone. I think they had lower quality cheaper ones but now you have a number.
