The starter is located at the bottom front of the engine. Look down in between the radiator and the engine. if all else fails, crawl under and look up, but wear safety goggles and use a good light.

That is a typical thing on most cars, let it cool down some then try again
I believe it has something to do with the "lockdown" where the transmission does not shift down causing the engine to stall....On the driver's side of the engine toward the front bottom there is a BLUE connection that if you disconnect the override should not occur.........have an 85 cutlass ciera have been driving it that way over a decade and solved the same problem for me..........try it......Cutlass~Cutee
I've looked also and have yet to find it, service manual doesn't say specifically that it has one. Having just spent a Saturday looking for it I don't think it exists. My problem came down to the MAF sensor.
Normally there will be a big plastic hose or tube looking thing coming from the top of the engine. It should go to the right side of the engine where you will find a box that has tabs on it. The filter is inside. On my 94 Ciera with V6 the engine air filter is in a round black canister next to the battery. Remove the intake hose, and the round filter is held down with a wingnut.
