How do you take the back seat out of a 1998 subaru legacy outback?

Unless you want to replace the seat on your Outback, I can't imagine a situation where it would be better to take it out than to simply fold it down. there should be a little knob on the back of the seat next to each seatbelt, the pulley that fastens it to the wall of the car. Pull that up and it will fold the back of the seat down. As far as actually removing the seat, for whatever reason, that you will find difficult to do.

What year tailgate hatch from a Subaru legacy outback will fit a 2004?

1999 and older and 2005 and newer will not fit. Not certain about the '01, 02, and '03 but that narrows it down a bit. You are best off checking with the seller and, failing all else, your Subaru dealer.

Where is the transmission dipstick located on a 2002 Subaru Legacy Outback?

*Hopefully* the same as other Subaru engines, low down the left hand side about half way up the engine (facing the engine) there should be a short yellow loop. Check it when the engine is cold!
