How do you record a macro for more than one Microsoft application?

You really do not. Some modules or functions might transfer between applications (you can cut and paste those sections between the applications), but most of the time a macro records key strokes unique to the particular application. Pressing the up arrow in Excel many not have the same result as pressing the up arrow in Word.
