There are several things you can do. Probably the most important thing is to use common sense- don't click on links titled "13.42.46", or anything that looks like that. Be careful about where you enter your email address: Believe me, you will not win $10,000 just from being the 1,000,000th person to visit the site. One other thing you can do is get an email scanner- AVG is just one of the many anti-virus programs there are.
Get yourself a good virus scanner... there are plenty of free ones out there. For example, I particularly like Avast. Rule of thumb... if you don't know who sent it to you, DON'T OPEN IT! Free virus scanners can let their own ones in though so don't be too trusting. Norton or Symantec is good. Rule of thumb can fail if person sending email doesn't know there own computer is infected with a download virus, even if you know them. So best way to avoid getting viruses- Don't get email. Good addition. Thankyou

Well if you really want to stay clear of viruses, then get an Apple computer.
You should follow the following steps. You should only read the email if you answer yes to all these questions.
1) Is the email of someone you know?
2) Have you received an email from this sender before?
3) Were you expecting an email with an attachment from this sender?
4) Does the email from the sender with the contents as described in the subject line and the name of the attachment make sense?
5) Does the email contain a virus? You determine this if you have an anti-virus programme on your computer

No, neither G-mail or E-mail names can contain periods.
Registered mail does not take longer to get somewhere then regular mail. The registered mail just needs a signature from the person receiving the mail when it is delivered.
Well, I heard that they like receiving e-mails on their fan e-mail address but not on their personal e-mail addresses.
It could just be spam mail or viruses
There is no law that you must open mail posted to you. But, if you are receiving mail on someone else's behalf or otherwise, you may not open their mail.
Spam folders are a part of your email system and hold mail that the email software determines is junk. This can be very helpful, as some junk emails contain viruses you could spread to others or throughout your computer/
This person probably lived there before you and hasn't made a address change for his mail.
