There is no radiator cap like you are used to seeing on most vehicles. The radiator is filled through the pressurized cap on the plastic coolant tank, this cap works much like your traditional radiator cap. After the coolant tank is filled to the "full" line, leave the tank's cap off and start the vehicle with the heater running on high. Let it run until it has reached the regular operating temp, adding coolant as needed to the tank as it is drawn into the cooling system. After 15-20 minutes the engine should be warmed up and no longer needing coolant added to the tank. Tighten down the pressure cap on the coolant tank until it clicks and check the coolant level periodically after several short trips over the next day or two and add as coolant as needed.
A 2003 Ford Expedition will take 5 gallons to refill the radiator. Ford recommends you use Motorcraft Premium Gold engine coolant.
Years 1997-2000 is green coolant. I don't know the newer vehicles.
