IBIS Web Search is a internet Explorer toolbar that allows you to get fast search results. It also includes a pop up blocker and browser skins. Unfortunately, it also includes the WinTools installer to keep the toolbar updated and now adds a Web Security Guard to supposedly protect your computer from unauthorized tampering. The only problem I have is I didn't ask for the Web Security Guard to be installed and it doesn't state in the terms of service that it was going to be installed. This is a good example of how these automatic updating solutions to toolbars work. They install themselves and then one day update silently and the next thing you know there are new icons in your System Tray or new browser toolbars, etc.
Method 1 to remove the toolbar and other spyware in your computer
1. Run Deckard's System Scanner (DSS)
2. Run the vundo and combo fix
3. Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
4. Run the anti spyware removal programs spybot
5 Run Superantispyware
6. Run a complete scan with free curing utility Dr.Web CureIt!
Method 1 to remove the tool bar How Do I Remove IBIS Web Search? First, uninstall the Web Search program and WinTools program from Add/Remove Programs 1) Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel 2) Double click on Add/Remove Programs 3) Find "Web Search Toolbar" and "Win-Tools Easy Installer (By Web Search)" in the list of installed programs and click on Change/Remove to uninstall it. During the uninstall process, you will be presented with several prompts to guide you through uninstalling the product. Read these carefully to make sure you are actually choosing to uninstall rather than keep the software.
