the owners manuel will show you that in the trunk under the light there is two screws. you remove them and lift it from inside the back seat.

To reset the service engine light on a 1997 Suzuki Sidekick first turn off the car. Unplug the battery of at least 5 seconds and then plug the battery. The computer will now be reset.

In the trunk in back of where the light is located there is a plastic lining. remove that, usually they just pop out with out tools, behind that you will see the how to remove the light. It is quite easy. make sure you have the proper tools to do so
From inside, you remove the foremost part of the console,Two phillip screws one on each side,lift and pull to the aft, you will have to remove the shifter and 4wd knobs, there will be a plate on the floor remove the 4 12mm. bolts and Voila, its right there.
