1. Remove retaining pin or clip first
2. Then pull it out
3. Use a soft hammer and hit it out It should come out
How to remove the right side axle half on a 1995 f150
pull drum off and get an axle puller. Although correct this answer assumes you mean the rear axle. If that is the case pull the drum off after removing the wheel and remove four bolts holding the axle bearing to the differential housing (on opposite side of brake backing plate) and then use a reversible hammer (axle puller) to pull the axle out from the differential axle housing.
remove rear cover from differential, find 1/4 inch bolt in the third member that holds the 1 inch diameter pin between the axles. Remove the bolt and the pin, push the axle that you want to remove in towards the differential and remove the C-clip that keeps the axle in the differential. Pull the axle, using a bearing puller remove the oil seal and the bearing. Replace the bearing and the oil seal, make sure it is installed in the right direction or it will leak. install the axle, C-clip, pin, bolt, rear cover, and differential oil.
Remove wheel, Remove drum or disc brake rotor, remove rear differental cover. Remove shaft between the spider gears that is held in by a lock bolt. Shove the axle from the outside toward the differential and remove the "C" clips that hold the axle in inside the diff. and then the axle can be removed.
take back plate off of the rearend pumpkin and there is a horseshoe clip at the end of the axle inside the rearend that has to come out and then the axle will pull out.
First, remove the axle. Then, user a large screwdriver or a seal remover to remove the seal. Tap a new seal into place with a hammer. Reinstall the axle and fill the differential lubricant.
The inter axle differential (also called a power divider) is an integral shaft in the forward axle. That shaft is the input for the forward axle and also the rear axle with a differential separating the input from the output allowing for a difference in speed between the front and rear axle.

You have to remove the brakes, rotors, wheel hubs, axle shafts, diff cover, and differential carrier, seals are on the inside of the axle tubes.
You have to open the differential and remove the retaining pin from the spider gear to remove the axle shaft.
Just pull it out. There should be nothing holding it in the differentail after you remove the locking hub and the hub.
I just did most of it today trying to get at the rear bearings. Break the axle nut (remove cotter pin) and lug nuts. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the wheel and axle nut. Remove drum. I removed the entire brake backing plate, but this should not be necessary. Disconnect the lower strut mount. Remove the bolts holding on the control arm and release the control arm. Now pull the hub off the axle. This can be done with a puller, or a hammer (I chose the latter). Remove the 5 bolts mounting the axle to the differential. You should now be able to work the axle out of the diff. Don't be surprised if differential fluid comes spilling out.
