First, remove the axle.
Then, user a large screwdriver or a seal remover to remove the seal.
Tap a new seal into place with a hammer.
Reinstall the axle and fill the differential lubricant.
The Chevrolet suburban 1500 axle is interchangeable with the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 axle. The manufacture year of the vehicles should be the same.

Maybe but it depends upon what you mean by "rear end". Do you mean the axle and axle housing or the body of the truck? Keep in mind a 2000 Silverado is a different generation than a 1997.

Depends on each individual truck. Look in your glovebox....there is a label from the factory with parts codes on it. The one with G refers to your gear ratio/ ring & pinion.
