When replacing a 1998 Nissan Sentra GXE stock radio with a new one does the radio get shut off do to anti theft precautions because I tried changing mine and the new radio will not work?
I changed the factory radio in my 98 Nissan Sentra GXE without any problems. I don't even think that model has any antitheft precautions unless they were installed aftermarket. I put in a Sony radio with CD and USB port. If your new radio doesn't work, make sure all the connections are correct and that your new radio isn't at fault. Make sure you plug the antena in... the stereo wont turn on unless the…
remove the ashtray from its holder and you'll see a screw (possibly 2, i don't remember). if you remove the screw you can remove the plastic piece that surrounds the radio deck, the little storage area and the power outlet. once that plastic piece is removed you'll see 2 screws holding the radio deck in place. remove those screws and you'll be able to slide the radio deck out.
There are two screws under the ashtray. Remove the astray to access the screws. Remove the screws. Once the screws are removed carefully pull the plastic frame covering the radio and the climate controls. Once the frame is removed you will see two or four screws depending on the model vehicle. Remove the screws and pull the radio out. Once the radio is out disconnect the connectors and the antenna. Installation is the reverse of…
I've been looking for a 1998 Nissan Sentra GXE Alternator Harness and it seems that they apply fairly universally, meaning the harnesses they sell on this link will most likely apply to your model. The link is: http://www.thepartsbin.com/catalog/?N=4294955288&Nr=OR(AND(make:Nissan,model:Sentra,year:1998),AND(universal:1))&Vi=1684+11370+4294963745&y=1998&mk=Nissan&md=Sentra Those are just "Alternator Harnesses". If you find you need more wires than that, you can get the whole mess of wires it's connected to called the "Sentra HARNESS ASSY-ALTERNATOR" from this link, part 24020: http://www.nissanpartszone.com/components/1998-nissan-sentra_wiring-240-881.html Good…

You don't have a timing belt, you have a timing chain..(that's for the other foreign automaker...that charge way to much at the lot..but are way too cheap to give you what you pay for.) you timing chain is located under you valve cover gasket, you would have to remove it in order to get at the chain.
