Start by lifting the carpet out and removing the skid plate that holds down the carpet by the sliding door, there are 4 screws. then using a size 13 socket remove the 4 bolts under the seat. then you will find 4 more bolts on the side of the seat. using a size 16 metric socket remove those bolts. By now you should be able to slid the seat out. watch out its heavier then you think.

I have an 86 VW Vanagon and just installed 6x9s in that spot but be sure to use speaker covers so as not to damage the cones by kicking them while going in and out.
Remove the pillar covers on the left and right. Remove the sun visors. Remove the roof center console if it is there or just remove the dome light. Remove the clothes hooks in the rear seat area. Remove the plastic strip just fwd of the rear hatch, at the top. If you have T tops, remove them. Now the headliner should come down. Be careful, it is just made of pressed fiberglass and crumbles easily.
I had an '86 Accord, the computer was under the driver's seat.
If it is the same as the '85 or '86 models, you will see 1 bolt on each side of the lower part of the seat, they could be the adjuster bolts for the seat to slide forward or back, towards the back of the seat, need an Allen key for this, remove them, the seat will slide either forward or back, ( cannot remember ) Once you slide the seat, it will release from the clip underneath the seat. If you do have no success this way, with the 2 rear bolts removed, peel up the front part of the seat, on the side, you will see on each side 1 bolt, us a wretch and remove them. Should do the job.
The term "86" usually means eliminate or remove.
yes
Pull off the seat, its under there.
well see, ya gotta rip that thing out, then throw in the trash, or keep it and give it to your kids to strangle themselves. Then, buy a new one and put it on the seat, super glue it or staple it. Then drive and hope to God it saves you
Hi, the battery in my 86 Escort Wagon is in the back, behind the rear seat on the driver's side. Hope this helps.
