The small plastic cover in the corner of the window is removable. Mirror mounting fasteners and wiring connections can be removed to remove mirror.
there will be a panel on the inside of the door, it might have some hidden screws. Remove this and you should see some nuts or screws holding the mirror on, remove these and the mirror should fall off.
You will need to remove the inside door panel of your 2002 VW Jetta. Remove the wiring harness from the mirror. Remove the side view mirror retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new side view mirror.
you need to remove the door panel on the inside of the car and at the top of the door by the mirror you will see 2 bolts holding the mirror onto the door remove those bolts and the mirror will come off.
There is a trianglular shaped piece of interior door cover (upper front portion of interior door cover) just gentle pull this piece towards you until it pops off, then remove the sponge material from the hole under the cover you just removed, there are now three nuts holding the mirror inplace, remove the nuts and any wires attached to the mirror and gently pull the mirror away from the door. ****Warning**** do not drop the mirror nuts while removing them, they will fall inside the door assembly, to recover them requires removing the entire interior door cover.
Remove door panel, then three bolts on mirror inside the speaker housing area.

i replaced my driver side mirror, remove the black plastic panel opposite the mirror, i used a paint can opener, there are hidden panel clips, three nuts and disconnected the electric mirror control
First you need to remove the door skin , once this is removed you should see three screws that attach the mirror, remove them....if it is a heated mirror you will need to unplug and replug the new one in before attaching the new mirror...hope this helps
