the mount has one leag that is longer than the others, it is a two piece design. removing that one bolt will allow you to feed the belt through without removing the mount bracket in its entirety.
After you have removed the black bracket, there is another bracket of machined metal under it. You will have to remove the three bolts holding this bracket in place. After that simply replace the belt.
not sure when you posted this question. but ill try to helpi have a 1995 buick park avenue and changed the belt..it seems difficult, but it is pretty simplethere is a mount or bracket as you are mentioning. do not removethe mount/bracket has three arms to it.. on the lower arm there is a removable section.it is very difficult to tell, prob cause the grease. just reach underneath it and you should feel a bolt.. remove said bolt and the lower mount/bracket actually will be removable or atleast part of it will be.. after this just follow the diagram to replace the belt and replace the bolt and section of the arm..hope it helped
The alternator on a Pontiac Aztek is replaced by removing the engine accessories, loosening the serpentine belt, and removing the retaining bolts. The alternator can then be pulled from its retaining bracket and a new one installed.
If it is the same 3800 engine as the 1993 Lesabre--very simple. Alternator is right on top of the engine. Loosen the serpentine belt ( tensioner) - remove the mounting bolts that hold the alternator on the bracket- remove the wire connections.
sounds like you need to replace the serpentine belt
from a 1992 what please? in regards to your serpentine, the engine should, if your lucky have a diagram of how it goes.
get someone that knows what they are doing, to replace it the 2 long front engine mount bolts need to be removed to replace serpentine belt
The tensioner is part of the bracket that holds the power steering pump. To replace the serpentine belt tensioner: 1. Drain the coolant to a level below the bracket. The bracket seals over a hole in the cylinder block. If you don't drain the coolant it will flood out of that hole. 2. Take note of the routing of the serpentine belt so you know how it goes back on. 3. Release the tension and remove the serpentine belt. 4. Remove the bolts and move the power steering pump out of the bracket. 5. Remove the 3 bolts that hold the bracket to the cylinder block. You may need to move the tensioner to get to a bolt behind it. 6. Remove the bracket from the block. It is put on with sealer, no gasket. It may be stuck tight and take some prying to remove. To put the tensioner back on reverse the above steps. Clean the old sealer off of the cylinder block to get a good seal.
Need to know what engine you have in order to answer this.
Disconnect the battery.Remove the serpentine belt.Take off the wires on the back of the alternator.Unbolt the alternator from the engine bracket.
Passenger side bolted right to the center of the engine block behind the serpentine belt.
replacing achieva serpentine on a 96i have a 96 and you have to completely remove the motor mount and all of the bolts holding it on the engine to replace the belt, also carefully jack up the engine since it will fall on the ground if you take off the mount
