Open the hood and remove the grille. The grille will have about 5 7mm, short bolts. Once all fasteners are removed, slide the grille either to the left or right. It will take some persistence, but be gentle.
Once removed the bumper can be removed by removing the torx screws. \
It is a simple job.
Unscrew it.
First remove the bumper cover. You need to take off the front grill to get at the plastic retainers that hold the top of the buimber on. There are about four retainers on the bootom of the bumper.

The 1997 Pontiac Sunfire front bumper is held in place by six retaining clips and for retaining bolts. Remove the retaining bolts and pry outward on each retaining clip.
well i had to pull my front bumper off to put the headlights on. I have a 1997 prelude so i don't know what year you have but i would guess the front bumper will have to come off.

Remove the positive battery cable from your 1997 Chevy Blazer battery. Remove the cables from the front of your starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new starter.
