If you're talking about removing/breaking the glue bond & removing the residue, I've found GooGone or GM Stripe/Woodgrain remover to work the best! Also good for removing decals from body surfaces.... Leaves no residue and doesn't harm the paint/finish!
Any cleaner I can think of to remove glue will, unfortunately melt or even destroy the styrofoam.
The best way to remove the vinyl is to heat it up. This can be done with a hair dryer blown over them for a few moments. It causes the glue to heat and become easier to peel off. You will have much better results removing them this way. Afterwards, if you find that you have any residue glue on the walls, you can use warm soap and water with a rag to gently rub it off. Do not use anything with an abrasive texture because this can take away paint from the walls.
Rub it with a rough rag and Goof Off, it will soften enough to be peeled off.
First you must tell us what "glue " is. There are hundreds of different substances with hundreds of different ways to remove them.
Use Goo Gone, it will remove it.
dampen a rag with lighter fluid or mineral spirits. no you wont remove the polyurethane, its dry. but it will however remove the glue with no problem or blemishes in your poly.
Poly vinyl acetate is white glue.
