Well I have a 2003 Columbia and mine is in a little black box with the blower in it..
1- I disconected all the hardnes
2- removed 4 bolts that hold the blower and pulled out the blower
3-I ONLY FIND ONE SCREW AND REMOVED
4- Now iT was verry challenging to pull out the cover but some how I succeeded puling out
5-Went outside open the hood close the valves that feed
6-unplug both hoses from underneath the bunk
7- back in the cab and unscrew the bolt that hold the heater core and the lines and simply pull out
8- pull out the heater core and put your new one in it mine cost me $53 from freight liner
9-put back in connect the
lines ..and there you go if u can put the cover back on it
10- because I am having hard time to put that cover back on it.
Note; I am not a mechanic but I always try now any one who can tell what from here..bring it on..dont shy..have fun..
If it's OEM installed, it should be directly under the door on the driver's side.
Disconnect the heater lines going into the fire wall from under the hood. Remove the panels from under the dash. At this point you should be able to remove the heater cover and remove the heater core.
remove glove box. remove platic cover behind glove box under hood remove both heater hoses at firewall under dash remove retaining screws on heater core remove heater core reinstall is exact opposite of removal
heater core is located behind glove compartment under the dash. remove ash tray and glove compartment remove platic cover under hood remove both heater hoses. under dash remove heater core installation is opposite of removal
The blower motor can be easily removed under the hood on the firewall. This may or may not give you access to the heater core. If not you will have to remove it from under the dash.
Remove the center console remove the floor vent remove the heater core cover the heater core is right under the climate control unit remove the two screws that hold the heater core in place, open the hood and remove the heater hose from the heater core lines, now go inside and pull out the old heater core you don't have to remove the whole dash just the front of it
under the passenger side behind glove box the is a panel you must remove be careful for wires remove panel to display heater core remove hoses from under hod and then pull heater core out from inside passenger side
Under the hood. Not true. At least on the 1989 it was under the dash on the passenger side were the passenger's feet would be. You remove one cover and the drain pan. Remove a second cover on the left side of the box. The heater core is there. Before removing. Drain all the antifreeze from the radiator and remove the quick connect heater hoses from the heater core under the hood.
Drain the radiator. Remove the heater hoses from the fittings at the firewall under the hood. Loosen the dash, and pull it out enough to reach under to the heater core. unbolt the core, remove, then replace. Reverse the procedures to finish the installation.
The heater core is located under the hood in the heater box where the blower motor is. Remove the heater hoses then the box can be unbolted and removed.
To remove the heater core you have to first rmove the bottom dash panels under where the heater controls are then pull the black box that is pu under the dash and the heater core is under there right where the hose comes through from your thermostate
There isn't one - Freightliner is wholly under private ownership. The owner of Freightliner - Daimler A.G. -is traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange as DAI.
