Put the ignition key in acc. position first. On the front barrel are two holes. Use a paper clip to push into the proper hole. The right hole, you will feel some spring resistance. Press the paper clip in further, at that time the switch should be able to be turned to the left further than the acc. position. Then, it should just pull out.
The switch should have a chrome bezel (a big nut) that screw on the front of the switch to hold it to the dashboard. Unscrew this and it will come out from the back. It will have a connector that will unplug from the rear of the switch.
The neutral switch on a 1965 Chevy Impala is located under the transmission shifter. It detects when the vehicle is in park or neutral and allows the engine to be started.

Which style of fuse do I use for 1965 SS Impala, sfe or agc?
The part that your key fits into has to be removed using a small paperclip to push through the hole you see near the key opening. The key switch will nee to be in a certain position, you push in the paper clp and the tumblers and all will come out. Now you remove the switch.
Without the key you are going to have to drill it out.
The 1965 impala came in multiple interior colors: red, black, blue...possible more.
