Remove the air intake, throttle cables, and throttle body. Remove vacuum lines then unbolt and remove the upper intake. Remove the fuel rails. Unbolt the lower intake and remove the intake to replace the gasket. Reverse the process to finish the installation.
Remove the intake manifold.
The upper intake plenum must be removed in order to gain access to the rear plugs (#1,2 & 3). It's not too hard a job to remove. About an hour or less.
The spark plugs are located under the coils.(front bank) One 10mm bolt holds down the coil, remove it and unplug the coil and the spark plug wire leading to the rear 3 cylinders. Remove the coil by lifting up to reveal the plugs. That is the front 3 cylinders. For the rear 3 cylinders you will probably need to remove the upper intake plenium unless you have super small hands to reach around the back and remove the plug wires and gain access to the plugs. GOOD LUCK !!! I hate doing tune-ups to these engines.
