take the trim panel off from around the radio...should go around the speedometer as well...(to make it easyer, put the truck in first (or 1 on the gear display) and if you have til, drop the wheel down) then there should be 3 - 7MM screws holding it in place, takem em out, wiggle it around a bit and there ya go. take the trim panel off from around the radio...should go around the speedometer as well...(to make it easyer, put the truck in first (or 1 on the gear display) and if you have til, drop the wheel down) then there should be 3 - 7MM screws holding it in place, takem em out, wiggle it around a bit and there ya go.
The radio in 88-94 C/K series trucks is actually two or three separate pieces.
The control panel is on the upper right of the dash. To remove it you need to put the automatic gear selector in 1, unscrew the four screws at the corners of the dash bezel, pull the bezel out, then unscrew the four small screws holding the panel in.
The radio itself is mounted below dash right above the gas pedal. There are one or two screws holding it in. Once you take them out you can slide the radio off the bracket.
The tape deck is in the middle of the dash. To take it out pry the bottom of the bezel towards the rear of the truck and once the spring clips come loose tilt it up to remove it. Then you will see the two screws holding it in. DO NOT pry the top of the bezel, that will break it.

trying to install a new antenna cable, from outside the truck to the radio, how do i do this
The older radios are easy to remove. Pull the knobs off the front and there's nuts benind them. It should take a 9/16th deep barrell socket to remove them. There may be a bracket on the back of the radio in the dash. After that, pull it out from the rear and unplug the wires. That's it.
It is probably the output amplifier chip.
you must remove the dash panel that goes over the stereo, heater and around the gauges then all you have to do is pull it out just by pressing two tabs on each side of the stereo
