if you go to checkers, craigen, shucks, or any simal auto parts store they should care a "special tool" to remove it. ask for the radio removal tool. i just purchased one today for $7. worked first try.

Next, you unscrew the four screws holding the deck to the dashboard and pull out the stereo and twist it so you can see the backside. Finally, you unplug and pull out all of the wiring.

There are 2 bolts that are located right below the stereo in the dash. You can remove these bolts then you can pull out just that center section of the dash to get at the cigarette lighter and accessory plugs. Or at least that is how it is on my 2000 Ranger.
I don't know about a 2000 vito but the new ones have a fuse on the back of the radio. You have to remove the radio to get to it.
You can't remove it because it does not have a governor. The speed is computer controlled.
