1/2 wrench 4 bolts on the bottom under the cushen
Does the electrical plug just pull off or do you have to turn it
Under the seat.
I'm currently replacing my transmission pully in my yellow deck John Deere STX38. You can not get to it from under the seat. As far as I can see the only way is to drop the transaxle.
I'm in the process of changing out the drive belt and I got a diagram from my local John Deere dealer. NOTE!!.....There is an adjustment to be made on the idler pulley, which is directly underneath the seat. The pulley itself obscures this slot and I learned the hard way....so I have to take it apart (again) and tighten the belt. Be sure and grease your pulleys when you have the mower deck off as the grease zerks are hard to get to and this is an oppotune time to do this.
If your John Deere seat malfunctioned, you may want to contact the company and see if they can't refund you or replace some parts. Since John Deere sells such reliable products, I would imagine their customer service would be great as well. I would also stick to buying John Deere parts for your John Deere so your warranty isn't violated.
Many farm communities have a John Deere dealership. If you do not, you can order your seat at: www.deere.com Don't overlook farming community swap meets and even Ebay.com as a source for used John Deere parts and accessories.
Check your seat safety switch. Just a guess..
Underneith the seat. Close to the gas cap
There should be a tag on the very rear of the mower, behind and below where the drivers seat is that will have that information. what years were john deere 920 built
You have to remove the pulley and unbolt all connections. There is of course a special puller for this operation however if you use a couple pry bars, some heat and a hammer it will come off...be careful you don't bend anything
Im not sure that the 1847 is a date as it could be a part number. they go for $60 to $80 on ebay. The first John Deere tractor was made in 1923.
This seat is currently being manufactured and has no antique value. As a barstool seat they are availavle on Ebay for about $20. Steve
There is a plug on the back to the right of the seat behind the axle.
