First of all, you need to get a set of Ford DIN radio removal tools - see the link below. Some people have had success bending a coat hanger to the right shape, but it's quite a bit more difficult and you can buy a set of the actual tools at Wal-Mart for about $4.
To remove the radio, you first need to remove the dash bezel, which is held on by screws and trim clips. In order to get it completely off, you'll have to remove the knob from the headlight switch. Reach up behind the dash and push the button on the top of the switch; the knob will then pull out. If you can't get the knob out, you may be able to get the bezel pulled out far enough to remove the radio - just be careful you don't crack the dash. Stick the radio removal tools into the holes on either side of the radio until they click in, then spread them apart slightly and pull. The radio should come right out.
