Hi, Let's start by opening the tail-gate all the way down . Then lift the tail -gate until the arms on the sides are half open . Then lift up on the arm towards the top of the bed side until the opening in the arm where it attaches to the tail-gate allow's the arm to be removed . Do the same for the other side .Once both arms are taken off , slightly lift the tail-gate off the the truck by pulling up and to the right ... Hope this helps ...
