If you can reach the broken key with a pair of needle nose pliers, you may be able to pull it out. Otherwise, it is a job for a professional locksmith.
i broke the key off in the ignition. got it out and got a new key. now when i try to hook up battery it trys to start even with the run switch off.
You will need to remove the retaining ring at the top of your 2003 Kia ignition cylinder. The ignition cylinder will slide out. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the ignition cylinder.
A locksmith may be able to remove the broke key and make a new one. Or just replace the ignition.
I broke my key in the ignition and cant get it out. My only option I can see, is to replace to tumbler. How do I remove it?
Gum maybe?? or tweaser??
assuming itis the switch and not the motor remove switch n hot wiretillup or use switch out of other side.....
If you have broke your ignition switch or lost the key disconnect the ignition barrel from the white connector plug then pull off the the key hole then with a knife peel back the casing around the wires to bear metal and wrap them together and attach the ignition back and it should be like turning the key.
Needle nose plies or tweezers and praying -if not - replace the switch.
If my key ignion is broke will my head lights work on my timber wolf 87 model
your key switch may be bad. There is a little shaft that gets weak and breaks in your ignition switch. you can check it by removing the plug to the switch on the left side, check to see if the little shaft is broke. If so you have to change the ignition switch. (key switch.) good luck.
Well, it sounds like the chip that is in your key may have broke or got stuck on a part of the ignition. I had that problem. This happened not long after I had had to have the ignition replaced?!?
You could try a very strong rare earth magnet, or even very fine pointy tweezers might work, but it depends if you mean broke off or just wont come out, in which case you might have to remove the ign switch and replace it with a new tumbler on the switch or the whole assembly.
