In order to pull the alternator fuse from a 2000 Toyota tacoma, you have to take two screws out first. One is a10mm screw, it's the easy one to get to, it's on the right side of the fuse box if you're standing on the drivers side. Take that one out, then take off the three bolts that hold the fuse box to the body so you can separate the tabs that hold the fuse box together. Unfortunately, you have to pull the fuse box apart to get to the other screw. Once it is apart, you can get to the little 8mm screw holding the other fuse tab in. Once the screws are out, the fuse slides right out.
The thermostat is located behind the timing belt above the alternator when you look for it you will see a round shape above the alternator and you take off the two bolts on the cover that is round and your thermostat will be there

Wilson the tensioner pulley and remove the alternator belt. Remove the wiring to the alternator. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. Remove the alternator and replace with a new alternator.
Remove the alternator belt on your 2000 Oldsmobile. Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the alternator. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. Put the new alternator on and reverse the process.
