Drill out the center of the rivet.
The push pins that are holding trim to the front bumper on a 2001 Silverado are actually pop rivets. These rivets have to be cut off to remove them. A hacksaw will be needed to accomplish this.

I have a 1983 s10 with a windshield visor. The windshield needs replaced and there is no bolt heads sticking up just round pop rivet looking things. How does it come off?
They probably are pop rivets holding it on. You may have to drill out the pop rivets to remove the visor. To reinstall just pop rivet it back on with new pop rivets.
Remove the switch by boring out the rivets holding it in place. The cylinder will come out easily once you get the lock free from its casing.

To replace radius arm bushings on a Mercedes A class, remove the 1 1/8 nut at the end of the radius arm. Cut the rivets out and remove the 4 bolts holding the hanger on. Remove the hanger and replace the bushings and bolt it back together.
I wish I knew. I've removed the driver door panel, disconnecting the window and lock controls, replaced the broken inside door handle, punched and drilled out the rivets holding the motor to the door panel, after taping the window glass so it won't drop down inside the door, but I can't decipher the regulator and lift arm connections, and can't see what I might be getting into. Directions came with the new motor, they claim… Read More

You must first take off the door panel, by removing all door panel screws. Then you have to remove the two lower bolts that hold the window in and remove the window. Is it possible to change the rear window in a soft top Mazda Miata without having to change the entire top?
Yes, remove the upper carpet near the rear window, remove the three piece metal bar holding the top in, separate the window from the rain rail by drilling the pop rivets out and take the rear section to the boat canvas shop. Miata's with glass windows are heat sealed in, and the entire top has to be replaced. Unfortunately I discovered this after someone vandalized mycar by busting the rear window out.

Remove the dog-house, drill out the rivets holding the original ignition coil, replace coil using bolts or new rivets. Before changing I would test it, not a common failed part. Though the distributor gear is a very common wear item on these vans, I would check that. Also might be cheaper to replace the distributor instead of just the gear.

pull off door cover, unhook all wires. drill out rivets that hold it in, unhook the window motor (if not before) pull all the way forward then all the way back to pull it off track. remove where it fits. remove motor from regulator. when replacing, DO NOT USE regular pop rivets. use steel rivets or bolts. anything but steel rivets will break off. reverse procedure.
I assume this is a manual crank window, not power windows. If the hand crank just spins around without raising the window all the way, the regulator inside the door is stripped. You'll need to remove the outer door panel to get to it, and a drill to drill out the rivets that hold the regulator in (and rivets or bolts to install the next one). Best to get a manual that covers that. Also… Read More

Hi, first you remove the tire and then the caliper. The caliper will have two hex head bolts holding it on. They are on the back of the caliper. Loosen them, and then pry them the rest of the way out. Once the caliper is off, you can then slide the rotor off. This will give you easier access to the ball joint. Work on getting the 3 rivets that are on the underneath of… Read More

Separate the ball joint from the spindle. Remove the control arm bushing nuts and bolts, along with the end link. The rivets holding the ball joint in will have to be drilled out. The new joint comes with bolts and nuts… Read More
