Their are 2 tabs at the top of the cup/ashtray tray, pull the tray out to the fully locked position and use a flat object to hold down the tabs so that they clear the back side of the inside of the instrument panel. I used a screw driver, held one down, pulled slightly on that side of the tray, then held the other tab down and the whole tray came out. You will also have to twist the ash tray ligh bulb and wire to free the tray completely.
Remove original ashtray, remove 4 screws that hold ashtray mounting bracket. This will give access to the 2 screws that hold inner end of cup holder. The cup holder must be pulled all the way out to get to screws. Remove screws, remove 2 screws in front face, cup holder will come right out. Installed updated cup holder in 20 minutes, start to finish!
You have to be more specific. Quote your question; "How do you replace a 2000 Ford Expedition cup holder?" If I was a smart @ss, I would answer; "The installation is the reverse of the removal." But I really don't know so. I would call the dealer and ask them.
You need to refer to the service manual to remove a 2000 Ford expedition XLTS key-less entry system.
The OBDII diagnostic port is located under the ashtray. Remove the plastic panel under the ashtray and viola.... the OBD II port
You need to remove the stereo first then the climate control unit then you can get at the ashtray unit. From there you can take it out and empty all the stuff that is preventing it from opening. I tried mine the hard way and ended up breaking it...not good. Good luck!
